Systems Project Manager

The Systems Project Manager will manage the construction project lifecycle, build customer relationships, and ensure compliance with regulations while overseeing multiple low voltage projects.

Responsibilities

Build relationships with customers and introduce complete portfolio of Ferguson services where appropriate
Collaborate across all Ferguson divisions when working with new and existing customers to ensure exceptional project delivery
Adhere to IBEW rules and regulations and all customer, Local, State and Federal codes and standards
Manage and oversee construction project lifecycle to include: Contract, Finance, and budget: Understanding the full scope of a project based on contract documents and or scope letter
Manage customer requests for estimates in a timely manner
Manage and track the Change Order process to effectively keep the project moving forward. This includes maintaining the contract value in Foundation is accurate with the work being performed
Manage and prepare all invoicing per the contract and or the customer’s specific requirements
Manage the project budget by tracking (and reviewing weekly) the projects committed costs and actual cost vs estimated costs and estimated cost to complete
Setup and review weekly cost codes (based on all projects being over 1000 man\hours)
Create and manage subcontracts for necessary work to be performed on the project
Manage multiple low voltage projects concurrently within the committed timeline and budget
Develop new business leads with guidance from the Systems Manager
Maintain knowledge of all low voltage systems to effectively position and sell the complete Systems portfolio of products (Structured Cabling, Fiber Optics, AV Systems, Nurse Call Systems, CCTV, Access Control and Fire Alarm)
Build relationships with customers and introduce complete portfolio of Ferguson services where appropriate
Collaborate across all Ferguson divisions when working with new and existing customers to ensure exceptional project delivery
Adhere to IBEW rules and regulations and all customer, Local, State and Federal codes and standards

Required

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience managing low-voltage systems in electrical contracting or a similar industry
Expertise in network cabling (e.g., BICSI standards), fire alarm systems (e.g., Notifier, Simplex), security systems (e.g., Lenel, Bosch), and video systems (e.g., Axis)
Strong knowledge of electrical codes (e.g., NEC) and safety regulations (e.g., NFPA 72)
Experience collaborating with estimating, construction, and service teams in a contracting environment
Ability to interpret blueprints and use design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam) to support project planning
Proven troubleshooting skills for low-voltage systems in field settings
Excellent communication and coordination skills to work with diverse teams and manage manpower scheduling
Exceptional initiative, execution and communication skills, both oral and written
Exceptional analytical, motivational, and leadership skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in a related field (construction or project management, engineering, etc.)
Journeyman or Master Electrician's license a plus
Certifications such as NICET (Fire Alarm Systems), BICSI Installer/Technician, or manufacturer-specific credentials are a plus
