The Overnight Shelter Advocate role involves offering safety, support, and resources to individuals impacted by domestic violence and human trafficking, while assisting case managers with operational tasks and providing transportation and resources.

Responsibilities

Provides safety, support, and resources for individuals and families impacted by domestic violence and human trafficking

Engages with participants in one-on-one support and assists their assigned Lead Case Manager by completing operational tasks such as faxing, mailing, completing and signing of releases of information

Assists participants in identifying and addressing individualized needs by researching and offering resources, education, and collaborating with other agencies

Also responsible for providing transportation and appropriate resources

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualification

CPR certificationFirst Aid certificationBilingual Spanish-EnglishFamily violence experienceBachelor's degreeLevel I Fingerprint Clearance

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR, Associates degree in a related field plus two (2) years of related experience; OR, High School Diploma plus four (4) years of related experience

Ability to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card, CPR, and First Aid certification

Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of automobile insurance, and Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to Sojourner Center's insurance company

Bilingual Spanish-English required. Language Assessment will be administered
