Control Systems Engineer II
Dynalectric San Diego is a leader in integrated electrical and building systems installations. They are hiring a Control Systems Engineer II responsible for implementing PC and PLC based control systems while collaborating with project managers and engineers throughout project stages.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including periodic updates
Peer-review the design work of colleagues to ensure that project quality objectives are satisfied
Direct the development of project related drawing and documentation packages such as wiring diagrams, bill of materials (BOMs), interconnect diagrams, manuals, test protocols and specs
Specify system components including controllers, I/O, motor starts, variable frequency drives, control valves, servers, touchscreen monitors and network equipment
Direct the design of Ethernet and device level LANs
Configure, program, test, and troubleshoot process instruments and VFDs
Configure, program, test, and troubleshoot graphical user interfaces
Develop functional specifications and test protocols including FAT, SAT and SIT
Provide engineering support for the foremen responsible for system installation and commissioning
Provide technical support and training to less senior colleagues
Qualification
Required
Must demonstrate expertise in three of the performance domains below
Control Panel Design: Panel layout and power distribution, enclosure selection, breaker/fuse selection, I/O selection, loop drawings, VFD selection/configuration, relational database maintenance, UL 508A compliance
Control System Design: System architecture, device level LANs, controller selection, hazard analysis and mitigation, circuits for hazardous areas (XP, IS, NI), safety circuits and interlocks, overpressure relief device selection, specification development, test protocol development, RFI generation
Instrumentation and Final Control Elements: Configuration of and application limitations for common pressure/level/temperature sensor technologies, analyzers, flow meters, toxic and combustible gas detectors. Control valve sizing and selection, regulator sizing and selection, instrument and valve datasheets, material compatibility with common process fluids
Codes and Standards: NFPA 70 (national electrical code), ISA RP-12 (intrinsic safety), ISA S88 (batch), ASME BPE (bioprocessing equipment), ASME BPCV (pressured vessels), ANSI B16.5 (pipe flanges and fittings), UL 508A (industrial control panels)
Control System Software Development: Control logic development, graphical user interface development, network configuration, time sequence database development, communication protocols
4-6 years' related experience
An undergraduate technical degree (e.g. ChE, ME, EE) for an accredited institution
Must demonstrate integrity, honesty, professionalism, and a commitment to company values
