Responsibilities
Complete estimates for both the Good Faith Estimate and Out of Network estimates per the No Surprise Act
Work with both clinic and hospital staff to ensure that estimates are delivered to patients, and clinics as applicable, in a timely manner per the time frames set by the No Surprise Act
Ensure that all completed documents are scanned into the patient’s account and/or applicable folder if estimate is not for a current patient
Make outgoing and receive incoming calls and answers inquiries from clinics, patients, insurance companies and all other parties regarding estimates
Effectively communicate to customers’ needs with the appropriate level of urgency
Appropriately refers all non-routine issues to management for clarification
Assist in all Patient Financial Service (PFS) functions as assigned
All other duties as assigned
Maintains confidentiality in ALL aspects of the position
Qualification
Required
Under direction of the Director(s) of Revenue Cycle, the Patient Financial Service (PFS) Revenue Cycle Financial Counselor will compile and assist patients with cost estimates for both Out of Network services and the Good Faith Estimates
Complete estimates for both the Good Faith Estimate and Out of Network estimates per the No Surprise Act
