Responsibilities

Assists in preparation of patient rooms
Opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedure utilizing aseptic technique, and checking integrity of sterile packaging
Assists the surgical team during operative procedures, providing needed supplies and instruments in a timely manner
Participates in the timeout on each case
Assist nursing staff in deliveries as directed by nurse: preparation, positioning, transports, transfer and discharge of patient
Collects urinalysis (UA) specimens
Applies fetal monitoring equipment
Takes and records maternal vital signs, weight, height and intake & output (I&O) measurements
Performs personal care services and assists with activities of daily living for patients in providing general care
Prepares, positions, transports, transfers and discharges patient
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Qualification

Surgical Technician certificationObstetrical Technician certificationCPR certificationAseptic techniquePatient careVital signs monitoring

Required

High School Education/GED or equivalent
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification

Preferred

Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification
