Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, revenue recognition, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and consolidations
Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and corporate policy
Provide strategic leadership in the interpretation and implementation of accounting standards (ASC 606, ASC 842, etc.) and develop internal policies to ensure compliance
Direct the preparation of consolidated financial statements and related analysis for executive management and the Board of Directors
Oversee internal control framework and ensure SOX compliance, including ongoing process improvement and documentation of key controls
Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and business unit leaders to align accounting strategies with business goals
Lead and mentor a high-performing global accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth
Drive automation and system enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial processes
Serve as the key liaison for external and internal auditors, managing audit preparation and execution
Monitor and manage accounting-related risks; recommend and implement policies to mitigate exposure
Provide thought leadership in financial process transformation and support global expansion initiatives, including acquisitions, integrations, and new entity setups
Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures aligned with corporate governance standards
Ensure the organization meets all statutory, tax, and financial reporting requirements across jurisdictions
Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 7+ years in leadership roles overseeing multiple accounting functions
Deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks (SOX, COSO)
Proven success leading large, complex accounting organizations with a focus on process excellence and automation
Strong business acumen and ability to translate accounting information into strategic insights for executive decision-making
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to influence across functions
Strong project management and change leadership skills, with the ability to execute multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) and advanced Excel and analytical tools
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
CPA required
Preferred
MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
Public accounting experience strongly preferred (Big Four background ideal)
Experience in the medical device, healthcare, or manufacturing industry
Track record of implementing system transformations and global process standardization
