Responsibilities
Evaluate and monitor clinical processes to determine strategies to improve the quality and safety of care
Work collaboratively with clinical nursing leadership in the implementation of quality and patient safety initiatives
Qualification
Required
Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah. License must be active and in good standing
Clinical experience: a minimum of 2-3 years of direct clinical nursing is required
Must demonstrate a strong understanding of quality improvement principles and regulatory requirements
Understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards including the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC)
A strong knowledge of evidence-based community standards
Technical skills: proficiency in applications associated with google, microsoft (word, excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with healthcare management software and electronic health record (EHR) programs is required
Analytical skills: The ability to collect, analyze and interpret data associated with clinical processes
Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
12 months of experience in correctional healthcare is preferred
Experience in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing is preferred
One year of experience in quality management, quality improvement or risk management preferred
