Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist

They are seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist to lead the evaluation and implementation of strategies for the acquisition of products and services, ensuring contract compliance and driving cost-saving initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities

Contracting. Drive contract compliance and product standards for consumable contracts which applies to both GPO and local agreements and negotiates improved pricing as well as other aspects of the business deal. This includes reviewing monthly reports to identify opportunities to add items to current consumables contracts as well as adding vendors to either local agreements or GPO
Drive contract compliance for non-IT capital, purchased services, professional services, and service/maintenance contracts that are between $1M-$2M
Negotiate pricing and the business deal aspects of contracts in the categories listed above that includes, but is not limited to, terms and conditions, end user licensing agreements, statements of work, placement agreements, and other IT related agreements
Strategy Development – $500K - $1M For projects with a value between $500K - $1M will provide oversight of the Sourcing Analyst as outlined in the contract plan
For projects with a value between $1M - $2M will lead those projects to include but not limited to Lead the formal RFX (Request for Information, Request for Quotation, or Request for Proposal) process as needed by the organization which includes leading organizational stakeholders through the process
Provide information related to market intelligence, vendor financial, and performance research
Create the RFX documents and facilitate specification development with the stakeholder teams as well as leading internal and external meetings, analyze the vendor responses, compile the data, and present the analysis and recommendations to the stakeholder team
Based on an analysis of Children's spend, vendor activity, and the marketplace, the role will develop, and recommend, the most appropriate and efficient sourcing strategy for each project assigned
Proactive execution of strategies through the strategic sourcing process and serves as an expert in the strategic sourcing process across assigned spend categories, including contract negotiations. Drives priorities and performance goals, while assisting in strategy development for major categories
Leads various system-wide cost savings initiatives to reduce overall cost through process improvement in order to drive change through the organization
Leads the non-clinical products and purchased services initiatives along with Supply Chain leadership
Leads the organization in the opening of new facilities and renovations of current facilities by project managing the Supply Chain Strategic Contract and Sourcing function in order to ensure that the strategic team has the appropriate items needed as well as working directly with the equipment planner to coordinate the product and equipment needs of the organization
Value Analysis. Researches spend patterns across multiple service lines in order to identify additional savings opportunities for the organization
Assists the Value Analysis team with product standardization program for both GPO and local items
Performs capital evaluations by conducting benchmarking, communicating with vendors, negotiating the evaluation agreements, determining the price impact to the organization as well as the value proposition
Partners with Value Analysis team on new product requests to determine product usage, initial cost, contract impact, and negotiate pricing if the new product is accepted by the stakeholder team

Required

7-10 years of experience in supply chain/materials management, including experience with competitive procurement practices, contract analysis, and negotiation of goods and services
5 years' experience contract negotiations or project management
Proficient using enterprise resource planning information system software (e.g. Lawson, PeopleSoft)
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain
Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing and contracting processes, that includes but is not limited to strong technical and analytical skills
Strong knowledge on system-wide contract administration and maintenance
Demonstrates the ability to review, summarize, and negotiate system-wide contractual agreements for goods and services
Proven ability to lead teams, plan, manage, and track projects
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written, oral, and presentation format across organizational levels
Must have proven organizational skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office

Preferred

5 years of experience in a healthcare setting
Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) experience
Master's degree or industry professional certification (e.g. CPM, CSCP, CMRP, CCCM)
