Manager, Police Data Administration
The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County is responsible for public transportation in the area, and they are seeking a Manager for their Police Data Administration Unit. Responsibilities
Assist project managers and/or project resident engineers with various tasks
Assist in quantity take-offs, estimating construction items, and scope of work documents, as needed
Responsible for learning project bid documents, plans, specs, contract, schedule, and payment application contents
Assist in preparing pre-construction meeting documents
Take meeting minutes for various meeting and follow up with people who were assigned tasks during the meeting to ensure open items get closed out asap
Assist in leading various project meetings
Assist in ensuring the project site is safe
Assist in ensuring the project is built correctly (per plan), via measuring work as it is being constructed
Assist in coordinating testing and inspections and assist in reviewing their daily reports and invoices
Assist in ensuring the project is built on time and making sure the project schedule is submitted monthly, is reviewed, and approved prior to payment application processing, alert project manager of potential issues
Assist in ensuring payment application is submitted monthly, by the 5th of the month, and is correct
Assist in FTA reporting, weekly METRO project updates, and assist with coordinating with other METRO departments as needed
Assist in constructability reviews on upcoming project plan sets
Assist in keeping project files organized on ATSER/PMIS/or other software accordingly
Assist in creating and reviewing RFI’s, submittals, issue logs, change orders/PCO logs, project contact lists, and that they are upkept, and ensure open items get closed out asap
Assist in reviewing monthly project financial documents
Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers
Applies SMS (Safety Management System) methods and principles in daily routine and supports all aspects of the agency’s Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP)
Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in data management, analytics, criminal justice or a related field is required
Minimum eight (8) years progressive experience in a law enforcement environment managing special projects, data administration, data governance, data analytics, and budget management to include (4) years lead/supervisory experience
Requires a highly motivated law enforcement professional with expertise in police administration, operational planning, and data driven analysis
Requires strong decision-making, problem-solving, and leadership skills to support the mission of the METRO Police Department
This position requires a background check
Preferred
Advanced degree is preferred
A solid understanding of crime data collection and reporting using the National Transit Database (NTD) and the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program's National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) is preferred
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to criminal justice is preferred
