The ideal candidate will manage complex cases including divorce, child custody, and property settlements, while excelling in both negotiation and litigation.

Responsibilities

Manage and execute legal strategy on a range of family law matters including parenting orders, divorce, property division, and spousal maintenance
Draft, review, and file court documents such as affidavits, consent orders, and binding financial agreements
Represent clients in Family Court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations, ensuring high standards of advocacy and professionalism
Provide compassionate legal counsel to clients navigating emotionally sensitive situations
Conduct legal research and keep up to date with changes in Australian family law
Collaborate with other remote legal professionals and support staff to ensure smooth case progression
Maintain meticulous case records and utilize legal software for matter management and client communication

Required

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) with strong knowledge of Australian family law

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with sensitivity to the emotional nature of family law
Familiarity with legal practice management tools and remote work systems
Able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of service and integrity
Strong time management and organizational skills in a fully remote environment
