SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER
The Department of the Navy is seeking a Supervisory Production Controller to serve in the Production Department of the Southeast Regional Maintenance Center. The role involves assigning work projects, supervising employees, managing ship repair job orders, and collaborating with other departments to ensure efficient production operations.

Responsibilities
You will assign work projects to subordinates
You will supervise and provide administrative and technical guidance to the civilian employees
You will review quality assurance (QA) deficiency/rejection reports to identify production shortfalls
You will manage ship repair job orders and contracts assigned by monitoring all work to anticipate, prevent, and minimize delays
You will collaborate with other department heads to coordinate work related changes affecting other departments
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326

You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present
You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
You will be required to work onboard ships
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with naval ships' configuration and major shipboard systems to provide expertise in scheduling, coordination control, planning and estimating, financing and work authorization
Experience requesting and coordinating engineering design services in support of work specifications
Experience coordinating overall operation and safety of assigned work centers
Experience communicating and collaborating with other naval agencies such as regional maintenance centers, Naval Sea Systems Command, TYCOMS, and other naval agencies that support and repair overhaul of naval vessels
Experience implementing trouble shooting techniques to facilitate ship repair and overhaul
Experience negotiating work schedules and proper time requirements with cognizant authority and contractor management personnel
