Responsibilities

Will develop, adapt and pursue new experimental methodology as needed to fulfill research objectives

Coordinate ongoing studies with other investigators, collaborate with expertise, and design/write VA research applications and publish study results

Will provide and present oral and written research presentations and identify clinically relevant areas for future investigations

Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP)

Degree: microbiology; or biology, chemistry, or basic medical science that included at least 20 semester hours in microbiology and other subjects related to the study of microorganisms, and 20 semester hours in the physical and mathematical sciences combining course work in organic chemistry or biochemistry, physics, and college algebra, or their equivalent

Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in microbiology, biology, chemistry, or basic medical science that included courses as shown in 1. above, plus appropriate experience or additional education

Experience: Designing and executing experiments, analyzing the resulting data, and reporting results in manuscripts and research presentations

A transcript must be submitted with your application if you are basing all or part of your qualifications on education

Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
