Responsibilities
Works closely with the Public Works Director to shape the Division priorities, guide strategic planning and advance major initiatives
Oversees the City’s Engineering Services Division, including development engineering oversight, capital project planning, civil engineering design, construction management and inspection for streets, utilities, transportation systems and public facilities
Assists in developing and implementing department goals, objectives, policies and procedures
Manages and mentors engineering, professional, technical and administrative staff, sets work priorities, monitors work flow and reviews and evaluates work products, methods and procedures
Serves as the City Engineer
Qualification
Required
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a related field
Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in professional civil engineering, including two years of management responsibility
Possession of a Professional Civil Engineer Certificate of Registration with the State of California is required
Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment
