Research Assistant – Bioinformatics and Systems Biology
The University of Pittsburgh is inviting applications for a Research Assistant position in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology. The role involves processing and analyzing omics datasets and contributing to AI-assisted biological reasoning projects.

Responsibilities
Process and analyze omics datasets, primarily transcriptomic (bulk/sc/spatial) and proteomic datasets
Integrate ontology-based annotations (Gene Ontology, Disease Ontology) into knowledge networks
Curate biological data from public repositories (NCBI, GEO, etc.)
Contribute to AI-assisted interpretation of biological hypotheses
Work with graph-based data representations and knowledge graphs
Prepare data summaries, figures, and reports for publications and grant proposal submissions
Contribute to writing research publications and presentations if applicable
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
1 year of experience
Preferred
Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field. Exceptionally skilled candidates with Bachelor's degree may also qualify
Experience with Python for biological data analysis
Familiarity with biological databases, ontology resources, and pathway analysis
Understanding of bioinformatics methods and high-throughput biological datasets
Strong analytical and communication skills
