Start in 2026 SummerScot Forge Company is looking to hire one IT Infrastructure/Cybersecurity Intern for the Summer of 2026 at the corporate facility in Spring Grove, IL. The internship will provide a variety of experiences in IT efforts within a manufacturing environment, supporting the IT team through daily tasks and projects.

Responsibilities
Provide level-one and level-two support to users by troubleshooting hardware and software issues
Assist in the installation of new IT hardware and software technologies
Contribute to security assessments, policies, procedures, and execution; create detailed documentation of IT processes and procedures
Participate in on-call availability for help desk phone
Qualification
Required
Minimum Sophomore standing in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field
Independent worker with strong self-management and problem-solving skills, who can demonstrate learning agility in infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other related initiatives
Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship
Must be able to pass a 90 day head hair drug test today
Preferred
Any IT certifications (CompTIA A+, AWS or Azure, etc.) are desirable but not required
Working knowledge of one or more programming languages
Understanding of software development principles and practices
Experience with database systems, concepts, and operations
Knowledge of the data science process
Understanding of fundamental networking, operating systems, and hardware concepts
Effective collaborator with strong communication skills
