Responsibilities

Direct/develop the division's primary mission goals/objectives
Head a division responsible for ensuring subordinate supervisors meet their organization goals and objectives
Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the squadrons
Direct and advise on policy, training, and procedures that relate to division functions within the enterprise supply chain operations
Develop goals and objectives that integrate organization and global supply programs objectives
Establish, revise, or review policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements
Plan work for accomplishment by subordinate units, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules based on consideration of difficulty of requirements and assignments such that the experience, training, and abilities of the staff are effectively utilized to meet organization and customer needs
Review and structure organization to optimize use of resources and maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the organization
Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities
Advise staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher-level management or headquarters

Required

Membership in the Illinois National Guard and in the military grade listed in the announcement
Required Rank of O5
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12 Level
At least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade of GS-12: experience supervising and/or managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions; knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system; experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues; experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions
Specialized supervisory experience which includes experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service
Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
