R&D Engineer/Scientist II

Responsibilities
Support the design and development of MEMS and Ring Laser Gyro sensors
Support current production lines as well as research and development for the next generation of sensors
Provide successful execution of complex engineering projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in technical disciplines such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
Experience with integrating and troubleshooting complex systems, including optical, mechanical, electrical, and software components
Ability to operate and maintain complex systems, perform data collection, and conduct system calibration and validation
Strong documentation skills, including the ability to capture design documentation, system requirements, and test procedures
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and external partners
Preferred
Master's degree in Engineering (preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Engineering Physics) or a related field
Strong physics background, experience with optical and laser design
Technician level hands-on skills – comfortable working directly with hardware, wiring, and test benches
Experience working as an R&D engineer in a relevant field, such as LiDAR systems, optics design, laser design, or remote sensing
Strong knowledge of laser beam propagation, signal processing, and data analysis
Experience with thin film coatings for optical systems such as anti-reflective, filter, or mirror coatings
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
