Drafter I
Applied Industrial Technologies is a leading value-added distributor and technical solutions provider of industrial motion and related maintenance supplies. The Drafter I will be responsible for creating manufacturing prints from 3D models using SolidWorks, checking drawings created by engineers, and assisting with prototype assembly.

Responsibilities
Creating manufacturing prints adhering to company and industry standards using SolidWorks
Checking drawing created by engineers
Creating 3D models
Creating assembly drawings
Creating bill of materials
Assisting with assembly of prototypes
Qualification
Required
Ability to produce fabrication drawings for all types of custom parts (machined, weldments, sheet metal, 3D printed)
Basic understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) structures
Knowledge or experience with manufacturing and/or machine shops
Ability to produce ballooned assembly drawings with accurate BOM table
Ability to understand design intent and design-for-manufacturability when drafting parts
Ability to create 3D models from rough sketches
Ability to source components and component specifications
Ability to constructively receive feedback on worked product and update accordingly
Abilities to self-check work for completeness and accuracy of work produced
Ability to stay organized, work on multiple projects at once and manage time efficiently
Possesses a sense of urgency, accuracy, and responsiveness
Ability to be a self-starter with limited supervision
Strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Occasionally lift and carry up to 20 lbs
Associates in Drafting/ CAD Technology, or equivalency, or ability to obtain a drafting certificate
Preferred
SAP experience
Demonstrated experience with Drafting/3D modeling/Assembly exploded views using SolidWorks
SolidWorks Mechanical and PDM experience
Basic understanding of electrical drawings
Proficiency in ASME ANSI Y14.5 metric and ISO 128 drafting standards
