Inventory Management Specialist - Non-Expendable (NX)

USAJOBS is seeking an Inventory Management Specialist within the VA Connecticut Healthcare System. This role is responsible for the inventory and lifecycle management of all non-expendable (NX) equipment in the assigned areas.

Responsibilities

Lifecycle Management: Responsible for the lifecycle management of non-expendable assets; conducts short, mid and long-term advanced planning; analyzes data; supports customers and acquisition personnel in developing requirements, utilizing mandatory sources and standardization sources; and corresponds with procurement officials and other stakeholders to resolve issues
Inventory Management and Control: Responsible for the management and control of NX equipment assets; serves as the point of contact for the coordination of material support and resolution of logistic problems; conducts forecasting and quantitative analysis; conducts spot checks; and complies with special requirements for firearms, ammunition and sensitive equipment
Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

U.S. Citizenship
Completion of all required steps in the application process
Selective Service Registration for males born after 12/31/1959
Ability to pass a background/security investigation
Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program
1-year probationary period or 2-year trial period
Time-In-Grade Requirement for current Federal employees
Specialized Experience or Graduate Level Education for GS-07 and GS-09 positions
Valid state driver's license or commercial driver's license (CDL) if required to operate a vehicle
Education must be accredited by an institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
Submission of a transcript if using education to qualify
Proof of Superior Academic Achievement if applicable
Experience in inventory management and control
Experience in lifecycle management of non-expendable assets
Experience in conducting forecasting and quantitative analysis
Experience in advising on management, control, and accountability of equipment
Experience in using bar code scanning equipment and property accounting systems
Experience in researching and analyzing information to resolve questions and improve operations
Ability to manage and organize information
