Responsibilities
Lead and support the development and execution of the Caregiver strategy, including assessing new partnership opportunities, strengthening existing collaborations, and ensuring alignment across program pillars
Develop short- and long-term program goals by assessing strengths, gaps, opportunities, and constraints; provide strategic recommendations to the Director
Advance initiatives that scale trainings, influence policy, shift narratives, and incubate innovative approaches at local, national, and global levels, ensuring alignment across Health and Peace Programs
Oversee budgets for assigned projects, monitor expenditures, investigate variances, and ensure responsible financial management
Partner with Development to identify funding opportunities, prepare grant proposals and reports, and maintain donor relationships
Guide staff in designing and implementing Caregiver activities; foster coordination with Public Policy, Global Mental Health, and Journalism pillars
Represent the program to internal and external stakeholders, including partners, donors, delegations, and other organizations
Build and maintain strong partner and donor relationships; promote collaboration across Health and Peace Programs and international offices
Supervise Caregiver staff, support Associate Director in managing personnel matters, and participate in hiring and performance management
Ensure accurate recordkeeping, quality control of documents, and strong program operations through direct oversight or delegated supervision
Write and edit briefings, reports, correspondence, and public-facing materials in collaboration with relevant Carter Center offices
Work with the data analyst to support applied research in partnership with subject-matter experts, academic institutions, and government and NGO partners
Support implementation of Carter Center and Health Program policies; ensure staff awareness, compliance, and opportunities to contribute to operational improvements
Encourage ongoing professional development for self and staff through training, networking, and industry engagement
Perform other duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in a field related to the program and seven years of professional experience related to the program and previous supervisory and program/project management experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
Preferred
Experience with domestic and/or international policy and program development, implementation, and evaluation to support caregivers and caregiving
Demonstrated proficiency in public health strategy development & implementation, project management, developing and implementing activities, staff supervision, budget preparation and execution, and partnership building
Excellent writing skills including writing for internal and executive staff as well as for the general public and funding proposals
Team player, diplomatic, skilled public speaker
