Lead Systems Analyst-RiverLine-Light Rail
NJ TRANSIT is transforming the third-largest transportation agency in North America and is looking for talented individuals committed to excellence. The Lead Systems Analyst will provide technical contributions and supervision for Light Rail IT systems, ensuring alignment between IT capabilities and operational needs while supporting cross-departmental initiatives.

Responsibilities
Responds to operational alerts and research issues for resolutions in the current and planned River Line computer systems
Conduct comprehensive analysis of existing systems to identify opportunities for improvement, scalability, and performance optimization
Provides application design and programming support for the maintenance and enhancement of existing applications systems, making recommendations and providing user training as appropriate to improve the systems
Design and architect technical solutions, considering factors such as system architecture, data models, APIs, and integration points
Develop detailed technical specifications and documentation for software components and system functionalities
Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript to implement and enhance features within customer-facing applications and trip planner systems
Conduct thorough testing and debugging of software components to ensure high quality and reliability
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to define test cases and ensure proper testing coverage for all system functionalities
Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software development, and make recommendations for technology adoption and innovation
Provide technical support and guidance to internal stakeholders, including troubleshooting issues and addressing user inquiries
Demonstrates technical knowledge in assigned systems and thorough understanding of operational environment and user roles and responsibilities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Systems, Business Analytics, or a comparable field
One year of closely related work experience can be substituted for each year of education required
Experience working with cross-functional teams and individuals at various organizational levels
5 years of experience in one or more of the following technologies is required: GitHub, Jira, Azure Pipelines, VS Code, Boomi, Control-M, node, AWS
5 years of experience in one or more of the following technologies of the below programming languages: .NET C#/VB, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, PowerShell, SQL
Demonstrated proficiency with business intelligence tools, reporting and end user report delivery required
Familiarity with multi-platform application environments both cloud and on premise
Demonstrated ability to work under changing conditions and priorities
Excellence in requirements gathering and documentation
Strong verbal and written communication skills for both formal and informal reporting
Demonstrated proficiency in areas including initiative, dependability, and ability to work with minimal supervision
Strong operational, analytical, and critical thinking skills
Effective problem-solving abilities
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships across IT and business unit departments
Preferred
Knowledge of Cloud Architecture (AWS, Azure) and Oracle Database is a plus
Familiarity with Light Rail Operations or the transportation industry is desired
