Traffic Signal Engineer - Civil Engineer Transportation Senior or Advanced
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is seeking a Traffic Signal Engineer to enhance Wisconsin roadways. This role involves providing engineering direction, operating traffic signal systems, and developing solutions for traffic safety and operational issues.

Responsibilities
Provide engineering direction and guidance and perform technical functions of an engineering nature in traffic engineering activities
Operate signals, signal systems and highway lighting systems in a large complex urban area
Design, develop, and review plans and contracts including major complex projects involving traffic controls signals
Advise consultants, contractors and project staff in matters relating to traffic controls signals
Identify needs, conduct traffic studies, and develop and implement solutions for traffic safety and operational problems
Serve in a standby status as a member of the Region's Statewide Incident Notification team on an as needed basis
Qualification
Required
Upon hire, candidate must have graduated from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) ABET accredited college or university with a 4-year bachelor's degree (or Master's or PH.D.) in engineering OR have graduated from an Engineer Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) accredited college AND hold an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification OR possess a PE license (registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin OR a valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if PE registration is from another state)
At least 4 years of professional engineering experience after receiving degree from an ABET accredited University in design, construction, traffic, or maintenance of transportation structures
A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if PE registration is from another state
