Responsibilities
Process inmate intake and release with accuracy and professionalism
Maintain secure and confidential inmate records
Communicate clearly with inmates, staff, and the public
Review and interpret legal documents (court orders, commitments, etc.)
Enter data into criminal justice systems and operate CCIC/NCIC terminals
Monitor inmates in the booking area and respond appropriately in crisis situations
Assist with property inventory, fee collection, and reporting
Support safety, security, and facility procedures
Train and support new staff as needed
Qualification
Required
One year of clerical or administrative experience required
Strong computer and data-entry skills (35 WPM typing minimum)
Excellent communication, professionalism, and problem-solving ability
Ability to work under pressure and exercise sound judgment
Must be able to work varied shifts — days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Cannot have a felony conviction
No convictions involving domestic violence
No use of illegal drugs within the past five years
Preferred
Experience or education in criminal justice
