Responsibilities
Manage laboratory supplies; includes ordering and tracking of consumables, solvents and standards
Perform routine laboratory maintenance tasks, such as calibrating, cleaning and verification of equipment (pH meter, scales, GC, LC). Keeping common work areas clean and organized. Restocking consumables like pipets, vials etc
Will work with the Analytical Flavor Insight Manager to conduct monthly safety walkthroughs
Responsible for sample receiving and recording in LIMS. This includes labeling the sample, working with the requester to fill in missing information, storage/organization of pending samples, disposal of samples according to our retention policy and communicating the incoming sample to the rest of the team
Provide technical support (e.g. sample preparation) to other team members and special projects as needed, e.g. volumetric dilutions, using an analytical balance, pH meter etc
Coordinate service calls for instrument repair and calibration
Adhere to laboratory safety policies and procedures
Qualification
Required
Associates degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or BS with 2+ years of experience working in a laboratory setting
Interest in learning how to conduct analytical chemistry in a flavor house

Comfortable with computer usage, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as analytical instrumentation software
Comfortable with basic calculations, ratio scaling, percentage calculations
Preferred
Prior flavor industry experience is a plus
