Interventional Radiologic Tech - Cath Lab/Operating Room - 40hr

Responsibilities

Responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures at a level that does not require constant supervision of technical detail
Performs all routine radiographic procedures according to department standards, protocols and guidelines required by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the State of Connecticut
Reviews and assesses the overall quality of images taken
Sterile technique policies and practices are followed and monitored
Maintains adequate stock levels and personal protection equipment
Actively participates in the maintenance of stock
Maintains professionalism in line with organizations core values and behaviors
Displays accuracy in proper EPIC documentation
Displays accuracy in image annotation and laterality marking
Positions properly for procedure
Records fluoroscopy times according to regulatory guidelines
Wears radiation badge accordingly
Wears appropriate PPE
Guides non radiology personnel in safe radiation practices
Performs equipment quality assurance and records accordingly
Assist in training of staff
Successfully completes any continuing education, staff meetings and training
Follow CHAMP safety behaviors and upholds Connecticut Children’s Code of Conduct
Other assigned duties as needed

Qualification

Required

Minimum one year experience as a Radiologic Technologist practicing in Pediatrics is required
Registered as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology; ARRT (R) in good standing
Current State of Connecticut Radiographer License
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of date of hire and maintained thereafter
Job requires independent problem identification, abstract reasoning and adaptability to varied environments and information, and quick decision-making
Job requires legibility, speaking accuracy and logical sentence and paragraph organization
A working knowledge and familiarity with professional (medical) terms and definitions is required
Job requires an ability to comprehend abstractions and to make inferences
Job required a high level of communication skill including expression of abstract/complex ideas, use of negotiation and active listening and an ability to dialogue with multiple parties
Job requires familiarity with fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion
Job requires the use of critical thinking skills for complex problem solving and requires the ability to review related information to develop and evaluate options and solutions for clinical decision making
Job requires demonstration of technical expertise
Job requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Preferred

Experience In Biplane Fluoroscopy Equipment Is Strongly Preferred
Experience in cardio-vascular interventional radiology is strongly preferred
