Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership across all departmental missions, including clinical care, medical education, research, and community engagement
Partner with the Dean and health system leadership to set and implement strategic priorities that align with the mission and goals of the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine and USA Health
Manage clinical subspecialties with the explicit goals of improving patient-centered care, enhancing value, and expanding access. Develop new services as appropriate to achieve organizational goals
Oversee both primary care and subspecialty ambulatory services, ensuring effective integration across the continuum of pediatric care
Recruit, retain, and mentor faculty, medical students, residents, and fellows; foster an environment that supports academic productivity, professional development, and physician well-being
Advance scholarly activity and curriculum innovation within the department
Provide leadership to enhance patient-centered care, quality, safety, and patient experience in both outpatient and inpatient services
Qualification
Required
MD, DO, or equivalent; board certification in Pediatrics
Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Alabama
Preferred
