Responsibilities

Chairs the company's Corporate Compliance Committee, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization
Oversee and maintain an effective compliance program that addresses the company’s specific needs within the healthcare industry
Regularly update and refine the compliance program to reflect changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and other healthcare-related laws
Monitor and assess the impact of regulatory changes on company operations, advising senior management on necessary adjustments
Identify, assess, and manage compliance risks across the organization
Develop risk mitigation strategies and oversee their implementation to minimize exposure to compliance-related risks
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
Investigate any reported or suspected breaches of compliance and coordinate responses to ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken
Draft, review, and update company compliance policies and procedures to ensure they are current, effective, and enforceable
Ensure consistent enforcement of compliance policies across all levels of the organization
Develop and deliver training programs for employees at all levels to ensure understanding of compliance requirements and ethical standards
Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior throughout the organization
Prepare and present regular reports on the status of the compliance program, including identified risks, audit results, and corrective actions, to the CEO and Board of Directors
Lead and mentor the compliance team, fostering a proactive approach to compliance management
Collaborate with other departments, including legal, risk management, and human resources, to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance and risk management

Required

Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or legal roles within the healthcare or medical risk management industry
Proven track record of successfully managing compliance programs and mitigating compliance risks
In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and other relevant federal and state laws
Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and mitigate compliance risks
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior leadership
Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing a compliance team
High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to upholding the company's values

Preferred

A Juris Doctor (JD) is preferred
Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), or equivalent certifications are highly desirable
