EG4 Electronics is seeking an experienced Electronics Test Engineer to join their New Product Development team. The role focuses on validating electronic designs through hands-on testing, test automation, and data analysis while collaborating with design and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute test plans for new product development phases (prototype, EVT, DVT, and production validation)

Design, build, and maintain test fixtures, test equipment, and automated test systems for lab and production environments

Perform functional, performance, stress, and reliability testing on electronic circuits and systems

Conduct root-cause analysis on test failures and manufacturing issues; drive corrective and preventive actions

Perform data analysis, yield analysis, and data correlation, and present clear technical findings to key stakeholders

Participate in and contribute to FMEA activities, identifying risks and improving test coverage and design robustness

Collaborate with electrical design engineers on schematic and PCB layout reviews, focusing on design-for-test (DFT) and design-for-manufacturability (DFM)

Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and coordinate with Contract Manufacturers (CM) to support builds, revisions, and ECOs

Support production bring-up, manufacturing troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives

Effectively multitask across multiple projects and efficiently utilize Engineering Technicians to support test execution and workflow efficiency

Required

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field

Experience in electronics testing, test automation, or related engineering roles

Hands-on experience with schematic design, PCB layout, and manufacturing package generation using Altium Designer or similar EDA tools

Proficiency with soldering equipment and PCB rework at the component level

Strong experience generating and maintaining BOMs and coordinating with Contract Manufacturers

Knowledge of Li-ion battery systems and BMS design, including: Passive and active cell balancing methods, State of Charge (SOC) estimation, Battery protection and safety mechanisms

Extensive hands-on experience using laboratory equipment, including: Oscilloscope, Power analyzer, Function generator, Thermal data logger, Digital multimeter

Programming experience in C/C++ and Python for test automation, scripting, and data analysis

Solid understanding of power electronics design and testing, including: DC-DC converters, Inverters, Analog and digital circuitry

Experience with standard communication protocols: RTU and TCP Modbus, CANbus, I2C, SPI, UART

Design, build, and maintain test setups and test equipment for lab and manufacturing environments

Preferred

Experience developing automated test solutions for lab and production environments

Familiarity with manufacturing test strategies and yield improvement methodologies

Knowledge of applicable industry standards and certifications (UL, IEC, etc.)

Experience working in fast-paced NPD environments with evolving requirements
