Research Internship, China Center

Hudson Institute is a research-focused public policy think tank headquartered in Washington, D.C., dedicated to promoting American leadership for a secure, free, and prosperous future. They are seeking interns to provide research and administrative support related to the US-China relationship, national security, and US Grand Strategy vis-à-vis China. Interns will engage with experts and assist in various research and administrative tasks while gaining exposure to critical issues in these areas.

Responsibilities

Gathering and analyzing data for inclusion in reports and articles
Keeping the expert and team up to date on current events
Assisting the expert with research projects, presentations, and drafting and editing podcast transcripts
Assisting with articles, op-eds, reports, and briefing memos
Providing weekly support to the China Insider podcast
Assisting with administrative tasks and event support

Required

Candidates should be recent graduates or current students working towards a degree in political science, international relations, economics, security studies, Chinese language studies, or related fields
Candidates should show a demonstrated interest in and understanding of US foreign policy, Chinese studies and current political trends, regional security, political and diplomatic issues, and U.S. policy related to these topics
Candidates should be able to work independently, manage their time wisely, and meet deadlines
Candidates should be detail-focused, reliable, professional, and possess strong research, writing, editing, and analysis skills, as well as excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
Candidates should be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
Candidates should be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per-week
Remote options are limited for this position. Please indicate if you intend to work in-person or remotely in your cover letter
