Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the assigned classification team, ensuring that the assigned classification team complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities
Represents the Air Force Central Classification in meetings and briefings
Participates in special agency projects and initiatives and performs special assignments with Air Force impact

Required

U.S. Citizenship Required
Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
One (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems
Knowledge of the full range of federal classification and federal personnel management laws, executive orders, functions, theories, and techniques and the interrelationship of the various personnel disciplines
Knowledge of agency's, management's, and installation's objectives, missions, and operating programs and the implications on command and/or agency personnel management programs and organizations
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures
Ability to represent the organization effectively, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions relating to work and in presenting controversial findings and to gain support for program goals
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level
This position has a limited Area of Consideration to current Department of Air Force employees
This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
Incumbent must sign a mobility agreement which specifies he/she will move in the best interest of the Air Force
This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
Supervisory position; a one year probationary period is required if not previously met
Centrally Managed position; PCS Authorized
