Bioinformatics Scientist - Lessard Lab
The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) is a respected nonprofit biomedical research institute dedicated to understanding and developing effective treatments for human diseases. The Lessard Lab is seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to manage and analyze complex genomic data and apply bioinformatic tools to support research on autoimmune diseases.
Responsibilities
Organizing and managing the multi-OMIC data generated by genotyping arrays, protein arrays, and a variety of high-throughput sequencing technologies at both bulk and single cell levels
Analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing the analysis results
Applying various modern methods and bioinformatic tools to acquire and analyze genotyping bulk RNA-seq, single cell RNA-seq small nuclear RNA-seq, scFFPE, spatial transcriptomics, HiC, ChIP-Seq, ATAC-seq, Perturb-seq, whole genome sequencing, long nanopore sequencing, etc., data generated in the lab
Qualification
Required
Ph.D., M.D., or Ph.D. /M.D
Strong project management and organizational skills and communication (verbal and written) skills are required
Individuals must be detail-oriented and capable of working both independently and as productive member of our team
Preferred
Ph.D./M.D. in bioinformatics is preferred
Experience in computer programming with the ability to work in linux, R, Python, C++, etc., and ability to use AI, machine learning, and statistical applications to analyze genetic data
Experience applying various modern methods and bioinformatic tools to acquire and analyze genotyping bulk RNA-seq, single cell RNA-seq small nuclear RNA-seq, scFFPE, spatial transcriptomics, HiC, ChIP-Seq, ATAC-seq, Perturb-seq, whole genome sequencing, long nanopore sequencing, etc
