Front Desk Clerk & Night Audit

Harrison Group Resort Hotels & Restaurants is a family-owned business based in Ocean City, Maryland, operating multiple hotels and restaurants. They are seeking a Front Desk Clerk & Night Audit who will manage guest check-ins and check-outs, handle reservations, and ensure a pleasant guest experience while performing night audit responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Perform all check-in and check-out tasks
Manage online and phone reservations
Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
Register guests, collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates, and amenities
Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner
Liaise with housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy, and fully furnished to accommodate guests’ needs
Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees, like wedding guests
Upsell additional facilities and services when appropriate
Maintain updated records of bookings and payments
Minimum of two night audit shifts a week
Balance daily transactions and reconcile financial reports
Prepare and distribute daily reports for management
Process end-of-day procedures, ensuring all systems and accounts are properly updated
Assist late-night guests with check-ins, check-outs, and inquiries
Monitor property security, addressing any overnight concerns or disturbances
Perform additional duties as needed

Required

Work experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, Receptionist, or similar role
Experience with hotel reservation software, like Cloudbeds and RoomKeyPMS
Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Booking and TripAdvisor
Customer service attitude
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Must be able to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
Ability to walk, reach, bend, and stoop as needed to complete daily tasks
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally (e.g., handling luggage or packages)
Ability to use hands for repetitive motion (e.g., typing, using a phone or computer)
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in person and over the phone
May be required to work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays

Preferred

A degree in hotel management is a plus
