LEAD EDUCATIONAL TECHNICIAN (CHILD DEVELOPMENT)
USAJOBS is seeking a Lead Educational Technician at Holloman AFB. The primary purpose of this position is to provide planning, directing, organizing, and exercising leadership and mentorship for nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Child Development Programs.

Responsibilities
Designs, implements, and reviews activity plans
Observes and evaluates each child's health and development and reports on and maintains records of observations
Provides technical assistance/guidance and leadership to all junior employees assigned to the program
Responsible for assisting the Assistant Director/Director with the operations of the Child Development Center

Males must be registered for Selective Service
Must complete additional training requirements to include Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, First Aid, rescue breathing, and food handlers
Must satisfactorily complete a physical and keep current on all immunizations
This position has a limited Area of Consideration to current Air Force employees assigned to Air Education and Training Command
This position has been identified as having 'regular contact with children'. An FBI fingerprint and State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) Check will be completed on any person selected for this position
This position is designated as a key position. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations
This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency
This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, 1702 Series
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems
Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education in a field directly related which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position
A combination of specialized experience or education as described above
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-06 level
Knowledge of Child Development regulations, procedures, and processes
Knowledge of early child development theory, methodology, and practices relating to physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development
Knowledge of Child Development Center regulations, programs, and operations. Ability to ensure the safety and hygiene of children through constant supervision, effective arrangement of space, and proper management of equipment
Skill and ability to lead employees, providing direction and guidance
Ability to develop creative and innovative activity and special program plans
Ability to promote and foster effective working relationships with others and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
