Rehab Therapy Clinical Intern

Parkview Health offers clinical internship experiences through Parkview Therapy Services, providing exposure to various therapy settings. The primary function of this internship is to support daily operations under the supervision of clinical staff and department leaders.

Responsibilities

Assisting with various indirect patient-related activities
Supporting process improvement projects to comply with Joint Commission requirements
Placing department supply orders
Routing medical documents as needed
Cleaning, sterilization, and general housekeeping
Transporting materials
Creating patient education materials
Performing other miscellaneous administrative tasks

Required

Currently accepted or enrolled in a college or university, healthcare career path preferred
GPA of 3.0 or above and in good standing
Must complete Parkview's Patient Care Foundations course within 60 days of hire
CPR certification at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire
Must have a high school diploma or GED or be a high school student enrolled in a work development class (ICE program or equivalent)
If a nursing student must be currently enrolled in an accredited ASN or BSN program
Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE) Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA)
Must be in pursuit of an ASN or BSN degree in nursing
Current CPR BLS certification required
Must have good verbal and written communication skills
Must have a working knowledge of computer skills and applications
Demonstrates ability to critically think
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds

Previous experience is preferred in direct patient care through work and/or school program
