Sr. Electrical Technician (NASA LTVS Award Contingent)

Axiom Space is collaborating with Astrolab, Inc. to develop a Lunar Terrain Vehicle for future Artemis missions. They are seeking a bold and dynamic Sr. Electrical Technician responsible for the assembly and testing of electrical hardware for the Lunar Terrain Vehicle Program.

Responsibilities

Assemble, test, and integrate prototype, qualification, and space-rated avionics hardware
Fabricate avionics wire harnesses, terminations, connectors, pin and socket assemblies, harness shields, ground terminations, and related components per drawings
Responsible for reading and understanding electrical drawings and diagrams of avionics systems, assemblies, and wiring layouts
Communicate project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership
Implement and maintain agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle
Perform additional job duties as assigned

Required

Associate degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience as an electronics technician
Proven background in board-level, system-level, and spacecraft-level electronics hardware
Demonstrated expertise in fabricating, assembling, and testing avionics and electrical assemblies
Must hold one or more of the following certifications: NASA-STD-8739.4, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC J-STD-001, NASA-STD-8739.2, NASA-STD-8739.3, NASA-STD-8739.1
Strong track record of delivering results in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
Proactive problem-solver with sound judgment and the ability to address complex challenges effectively
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines while ensuring high-quality results
Ability to assemble prototype and test boxes with minimalistic drawings
Familiarity with standard lab test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, data acquisition boxes, etc.)
Must be able to interact with all engineering disciplines and technical management in a professional team-oriented environment
Ability to demonstrate problem solving
Executes priorities with precision and pace
High EQ and ability to collaborate within teams and cross-functionally
Tech-savvy in using systems and tools to move faster and smarter
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)
May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)

Preferred

commercial or military aircraft experience strongly preferred
