The Director of Government Affairs & Policy, Europe will lead engagement with policymakers and industry stakeholders to promote green hydrogen initiatives and ensure understanding of EH2's technological advantages.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategic advocacy plan to lead increased green hydrogen demand
Be an expert influencing policy makers, academics, industry leaders, and journalists regarding the cost trajectory of green hydrogen based on EH2's cost advanced technology
Shape specific policy and regulatory frameworks in Brussels, Germany, France, Spain, UK, and other clean hydrogen economies to promote rapid market growth for green hydrogen technology and projects
Build trusted relationships with policy makers, experts, and industry partners at the EU and member state levels
Communicate policy opportunities and outcomes internally, including keeping EH2 sales, marketing, cost estimation, development and leadership teams informed of legal and policy trends affecting the business
Collaborate with EH2's sales and marketing teams to integrate policy plans with commercial and marketing goals
Advocate for governmental funding, incentives, and partnerships that support manufacturing, fabrication, export/import, deployment, sales and service goals

Required

Experience with EU legal structures and member state policy making processes, including the regulation of renewables, electricity, clean hydrogen, and advanced fuels
Knowledge of renewable energy and clean hydrogen laws and regulations, including the RFNBO Delegated Act, RED III, and member state transposition of RED III
Understanding of renewable, hydrogen, and energy distribution systems, grids, and markets in the EU
Familiarity with the important legal and funding mechanisms affecting hydrogen, including EU competition law, state aid rules, and European Hydrogen Bank requirements
Knowledge of programs and opportunities at the European Investment Bank and member state export credit agencies
Experience influencing energy, climate, or industrial policy at EU and member state level
Experience with near term demand plans improving sustainable aviation fuel, maritime fuel, transport fuel, and industrial fuel usage
Public affairs experience leading multi-faceted campaigns to influence policy makers and experts
