Project Engineer - Geotechnical
NV5 is a provider of engineering and consulting services to public and private sector clients. They are looking for experienced engineers with a geotechnical background to manage and oversee geotechnical projects in the greater Truckee/Tahoe area, ensuring quality and client satisfaction while developing proposals and technical reports.

Responsibilities
Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans
Determines project scope by understanding client requirements, reviewing regulatory standards, and preparing cost estimates
Determines project schedule, coordinates resources, and monitors and controls project budget
Supervises and assists in field work and analyzes test results
Ensures projects are completed according to contractual requirements and agreed-upon schedule
Ensures overall quality of the work
Coordinates the collection and dissemination of technical information within the company and to the client
Maintains client relationships and appropriately manages client expectations and satisfaction
Review and create technical documents and interpret technical plans and specifications
Accurately report observations and test results through clear, concise verbal and written communications
Knowledge of current regulatory requirements and industry standards for the types of projects performed
Effective interpersonal communications with clients, contractors, and colleagues. Demonstrated teamwork and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated knowledge and appropriate application of testing methodologies and related equipment
Must have a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in geotechnical, or Equivalent
Professional registration as a California PE or ability to be licensed in CA within a 6 to 12-month testing cycle
5+ years of experience in engineering and/or geology (Commercial, Public Works, Resort Structural, or DSA/HCAI projects)
Requires knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures, and professional judgment to make modifications or execute complex features or solutions
Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull objects and materials up to 50 pounds
Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
Intermittently walk, stand, kneel, bend, reach, and stoop
May be required to work outside regular business hours
Frequent travel may be required, including out-of-town assignments

Must adhere to NV5 safety practices and policies

Registration as a Geotechnical Engineer or the ability to get registration preferred
