Precast Senior Designer
Fisher Associates is a multidisciplinary design services firm headquartered in Rochester, NY, seeking a Precast Senior Designer to lead the development of efficient and sustainable precast concrete solutions. The role involves providing technical direction, supporting design teams, and ensuring high standards of performance and quality in transportation and structural infrastructure projects.
Consulting
Responsibilities
Lead and execute precast engineering and design tasks efficiently
Collaborate with project teams to deliver structurally sound, cost-effective, and visually appealing precast concrete designs
Perform and review structural analysis and calculations to ensure safety under various loads and conditions
Select materials and components for precast concrete production that meet strength, durability, and sustainability standards
Create accurate drawings, plans, and specifications for precast projects aligned with industry design standards
Support cost estimation for materials
Support Project Managers and Designers throughout the project lifecycle
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of codes, technologies, and advancements in the precast-prestressed field
Promote, utilize and support QA/QC processes to guarantee quality deliverables
Mentor junior staff and support their technical development
Qualification
Required
10 plus years of precast design experience in precast concrete design engineering for transportation infrastructure and underground structures (utility vaults, manholes, drainage structures and pump stations)
B.S. degree in Civil Engineering preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered
Familiarity with ACI 318, ACI 350, ASCE-7, AASHTO

Preferred
Familiarity with IBC codes a plus
Professional Engineering License (PE) a plus but not required
