They are seeking an Estimating Manager with strong experience in the Heavy Highway / Heavy Civil industry to focus on project costs and innovative strategies to win bids.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly review and understand the project specifications and drawings

Exhibit a good understanding of how the owner pays for the Schedule of Values

Produce accurate take-offs and pricing of Heavy Highway / Heavy Civil components

Complete cost estimates on project from $10M to $500M+ price range

Solicit subcontractors and vendors for quotations

Prepare/manage Minority Participation matrix

Analyze self-perform activities versus subcontracted

Prepare/assist in creating construction schedules

Prepare/analyze equipment utilization schedule

Update databases with labor rates, vendor plug values and equipment rates

Complete cost estimates for assigned scopes of work on larger projects

Provide mentoring for less experienced estimators

Manage a group of assisting estimators

Exhibit good communication skills with internal staff, subcontractors, vendors, client representation, etc. maintaining ethical standards

Manage Joint Venture estimates

Identify risks and opportunities for projects

Coordinate quantity and cost comparison with Joint Venture Partners
