Responsibilities
Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications
Conduct daily field inspections and document site activities and progress
Identify and document any construction issues, non-conformance, or safety concerns
Promote and enforce safety practices in accordance with OSHA and project-specific standards
Maintain daily diary reports
Monitor OE duties of tracking quantities and process contractor payment applications
Coordinate materials testing, verification, and inspection procedures
Communicate regularly with client representatives regarding project status
Qualification
Required
NICET Level IV certification or equivalent experience
At least 10 years of relevant field inspection experience, preferably with New York State DOT or New York State Thruway Authority
Proficiency in computer-aided project administration software
OSHA 10 certification and strong knowledge of construction site safety practices
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to and between project locations in Onondaga County
Preferred
PE Certification
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field or equivalent experience may be considered
