Mechanical Technician III

The Mechanical Technician III will perform tests and measurement tasks within the Mechanical department, ensuring accurate data processing and maintaining lab equipment.

Responsibilities
Test Setup - Read specifications from technical documents (Test Standards, Customer SOWs, and Test Plans/Procedures), identify/prepare test equipment
Perform Testing - Monitor tests per specifications, interact with customers if needed, troubleshoot, document all pertinent data
Data Processing - After test completion, verify, review and document all pertinent data. Finalize data and send to the Program Manager
Lab Maintenance / Post-Test Breakdown - Physically remove test items. Maintain lab by cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, organizing supplies
Other - Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Limited supervision; can perform recurring work independently
Able to complete advanced technical and mechanical procedures; able to perform assignments that are not standardized or prescribed
Regular interaction with clients
Able to troubleshoot and rework complex tests
Advanced interpretation and analysis of test results; regularly called upon to provide input on test results
Comprehensive knowledge of electrical & mechanical principles, comprehensive knowledge of all potential aspects of safety; basic understanding of AC/DC circuits
Able to use all standard and complex Mechanical equipment; able to use standard and complex hydraulics-based systems; able to accurately capture necessary data; basic MS Office skills
HS Diploma or GED. Technical Certification, AA or AS degree preferred
5+ Years of experience
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
