New Grad, Entry LevelFlex-N-Gate is a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry. The Cabling Technician is responsible for cabling and termination of various wiring disciplines, including testing and troubleshooting wiring problems.

Responsibilities
Responsible for running and/or replacing new cabling in new or existing buildings
Termination and testing of new cabling
Responsible for testing and troubleshooting of cable
Physically install Enhanced Category 5, Category 6, and Fiber Structured Cable Distribution Systems
Accurately test copper and fiber cables to required certification parameters utilizing appropriate test equipment as required
Diagnose and correct copper and optical fiber problems
Removal and demolition of abandoned cables
Determine closet and equipment layouts and install closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures, and balance video equipment
Perform work in retrofit and new construction environments and implement cut-overs
Attend training and safety meetings. Work safely at all times utilizing the necessary Personal Protection Equipment. Demonstrate safe working practices
Perform administrative tasks including, but not limited to, documenting test results and as-builts, providing labor summary reports, etc
Order and inventory materials
Develop project plan including required materials, deliver schedules, completion schedules
Qualification
Required
Communicates effectively and appropriately when dealing with other departments and/or personnel
Must have basic knowledge of power tools and safety equipment
Must have knowledge of basic computer skills and be able to demonstrate good writing skills
Must work well with little supervision individually and in a team environment
Possess a high level of independent judgment within established procedures
Ability to work extended hours (overtime) as needed
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Comfort with climbing, standing, and working on elevated surfaces to include ladders and lifts
Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record
Must be available to travel when needed
High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Fiber Splicing Certification
