Responsibilities

Assist the corporate NDE staff perform nondestructive examinations of power plant welds, components, and equipment during normal plant operation and outage situations for the Dominion Energy nuclear fleet
Travel to nuclear stations within the fleet to provide NDE support as needed

Required

Working toward an associate in applied science degree in Nondestructive Examination with a graduation date from fall 2026 to spring 2027
Completed training, equivalent to a SNT-TC-1A or CP-189 Level I examiner, in the PT, MT, and UT testing methods
GPA of 3.0 or higher
Skills and knowledge to properly perform specific calibrations, specific tests, and be able to follow approved nondestructive testing procedures under the direct guidance or supervision of an NDE Level II or NDE Level III examiner
Exposure to performing nondestructive examinations in the Magnetic Particle (MT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), and Ultrasonic (UT) NDE methods
Strong ability to rapidly grasp new technical concepts and work either independently or as a group to meet challenging goals
Ability to collaborate effectively with a team
Strong communication skills
Professional orientation and effective interpersonal skills
Effective communication skills in both written and oral forms
Ability to work in teams or independently under own initiative
Ability to rapidly learn new concepts and maintain cognizance and control of multiple project tasks
Problem-solving skills, including demonstrated ability to define problems, collect information, evaluate data, draw valid conclusions, and develop solutions
Ability to effectively operate a personal computer and standard Microsoft applications
