Quality Control Engineer

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Control Plans (QCPs) in compliance with contract documents and company standards
Perform and document inspections, tests, and audits of construction activities, materials, and workmanship to verify compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements
Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to address and resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner
Track, report, and monitor non-conformance items and corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement
Maintain organized and accurate quality records, including inspection reports, testing data, and certifications
Provide training and guidance to project teams on quality standards, procedures, and best practices
Support safety and environmental compliance initiatives, ensuring that quality control processes align with Forgen’s Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture
Participate in pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and closeout reviews to represent the quality control function

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field preferred
Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience in quality control, construction, or engineering disciplines will be considered in lieu of a formal degree
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in quality control for heavy civil, geotechnical, or environmental construction projects
Solid understanding of construction methods, specifications, and applicable industry standards (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO, ACI)
Strong attention to detail with effective organizational and documentation skills
Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with construction management software is a plus
Willingness and ability to travel and work on active project sites as required
Demonstrated commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
