Responsibilities

Build and maintain a working knowledge of electric motor principles

Plan daily shop activities to maximize productivity and throughput

Train, develop, and monitor performance on both current and new employees

Conduct regular quality checks on every job

Notify proper personnel when shop maintenance and repairs are needed

Lead continuous improvement initiatives and be an advocate for change

Oversee all outside vendor service in relation to motor testing and repair

Work in accordance with safety guidelines in place

Fill out paperwork accurately and on time

Maintain shop organization and cleanliness

Perform any other duties as assigned

Mechanical aptitude

Willingness to learn and become an expert at electric motor repair

High level of problem-solving skills and thinking outside the box

Ability to set clear priorities and juggle competing priorities

Clear verbal and written communication skills with various levels of employees

Excellent people skills and able to communicate and motivate employees

Previous supervisor experience required

An associate's degree required

Preferred

Working knowledge of lean, six sigma, and world-class manufacturing principles strongly preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering or related field
