Kinetic Design + Development is looking for a Permit Technician Intern to join the Krew. This part-time internship involves supporting the Development Services team by researching requirements, organizing documents, coordinating submissions, and learning about the permitting and architectural process.

Responsibilities

Support Development Services staff by completing weekly assigned tasks and staying aligned on priorities

Research permitting requirements, standards, documents, and review timelines for each authority

Help prepare permitting applications using project information and internal procedures

Coordinate fee requests, track receipts, and organize expenses

Support printing, shipping, and signature coordination for construction documents

Document communication with jurisdictions and save information to shared folders

Draft letters, transmittals, and other official project documents

Track weekly hours to support accurate billing

Assist with occasional local errands for document delivery or printing

Collaborate with the team, learn client standards, and support workflow as needed

Follow all HR processes and guidelines

Required

Enrollment in or completion of a two-year college or trade program

Some prior work experience, on-campus involvement, or transferable skills from part-time jobs or projects

Interest in areas like sales, operations, data analytics, or project coordination

Curiosity about real estate, construction, development, permitting, city planning, or architecture

Strong organization, communication, and documentation skills

Comfort digging into research and solving problems with guidance

Ability to stay flexible when priorities shift

Professional presence, solid phone etiquette, and a collaborative mindset

Motivation to learn the architectural process and build permitting knowledge
