Responsibilities

Manage and monitor court deadlines
Taking full ownership of case calendars
Electronically file documents in both federal and state courts under attorney supervision
Prepare drafts of pleadings, discovery responses, notices, and motions
Request and summarize medical records
Preparing clear, well-organized medical chronologies for attorney review

Required

Litigation experience in a law firm, including hands-on involvement in case preparation from start to finish
A solid understanding of a paralegal's role throughout the full litigation life cycle
Manage and monitor court deadlines, taking full ownership of case calendars
Electronically file documents in both federal and state courts under attorney supervision
Prepare drafts of pleadings, discovery responses, notices, and motions
Request and summarize medical records and prepare clear, well-organized medical chronologies for attorney review
Strong organizational skills along with well-developed critical thinking abilities
Detail-oriented, producing neat and accurate work product
Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
Resolve issues proactively
Communicate effectively
Be a true team player who contributes to a collaborative, high-performing environment
Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet business needs

Preferred

Trial experience is preferred and considered a strong asset
A 2- or 4-year degree and a paralegal certificate are preferred; however, relevant work experience may be substituted for formal education
