Responsibilities
Prepare and file Business Personal Property (BPP) tax returns, primarily for Texas jurisdictions
Identify, classify, and value taxable personal property (computers, equipment, furniture, etc.)
Track deadlines, required documentation, and assessor correspondence
Coordinate with a Chicago-based lead attorney and Houston administrative staff
Build structure and processes for a newly established in-house BPP function
Qualification
Required
3+ years of hands-on experience preparing or supporting BPP tax returns
Strong understanding of BPP valuation and state/local filing requirements
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and deadline management
Comfortable working independently and collaborating across locations
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
Preferred
Experience filing BPP returns in Texas (Required)
Familiarity with PTMS or similar BPP software
Experience in commercial property tax or professional services environments
