Corporate Staff Attorney

The Corporate Staff Attorney will provide legal support across renewable energy and industrial operations, focusing on trading agreements and corporate legal support for project development activities.
Construction
Responsibilities
Draft, negotiate, and manage trading, hedging, and marketing agreements, including ISDA, NAESB, offtake, and environmental attribute contracts (RIN, LCFS, REC)
Provide guidance on compliance with RFS2, LCFS, and voluntary carbon markets, including documentation and reporting obligations
Support structuring and documentation for physical and financial RNG transactions, counterparty onboarding, and risk management policies
Advise on credit, delivery, settlement, and contractual dispute matters
Work with trading, risk, finance, and accounting teams to ensure transactions align with company policies and regulatory requirements
Draft and negotiate commercial and industrial agreements, including EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and equipment supply and procurement contracts
Support M&A and joint venture transactions, including due diligence, entity structuring, and deal execution
Assist with corporate governance, including subsidiary management, board materials, and compliance policies
Advise business leaders on operational matters, including employment, real estate, and regulatory risk
Coordinate with outside legal counsel and help guide project managers and commercial leaders
Support a positive and collaborative work environment
Travel domestically 5-10% of the time
Follow all safety guidelines and company health and safety standards
Communicate professionally with coworkers, clients, and leadership
Follow company policies, procedures, and work instructions
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (ability to qualify for Missouri in-house registration if needed)
Minimum 3 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, preferably within energy, commodities, utilities, or industrial project development
Strong understanding of commercial contracting and transaction structuring
Strong writing, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to balance legal risk and business needs
Ability to operate independently, support multiple business functions, and manage several priorities at once
Strong business judgment and practical, solution-oriented approach
Ability to work effectively with technical and commercial teams
Detail-oriented while maintaining focus on broader strategic goals
Collaborative and adaptable within an entrepreneurial environment
Interest in renewable energy, sustainability, and industrial innovation
Must demonstrate Roeslein's core values, support safe operations, and maintain positive working relationships
