Mission Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and execute multi-robot demonstrations for customers and partners globally
Transport and maintain equipment across various field conditions - robots, batteries, cameras, sensors, and supporting hardware
Represent Breaker at trade shows, customer meetings, and field demonstrations, building relationships with military and defense industry contacts
Serve as the technical point of contact for key customer organizations, maintaining relationships and tailoring explanations to different audiences
Execute structured test plans on new features and software releases, conducting field testing to identify bugs and performance issues in operational conditions
Write comprehensive test reports and demo debriefs - performance analysis, operational feedback, bug documentation, and product recommendations
Provide an authentic operator perspective to engineering teams, translating how Avalon would actually be used in military contexts and turning that into product requirements
Debug field issues in real-time (compass calibration, hardware integration, connectivity problems)
Maintain customer pipeline documentation and collaborate with BD leadership on demonstration strategy and prioritization

Required

US citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance
Tactical military experience - you understand how ISR and autonomous systems are employed in real operations, whether you were the operator, the supported unit, or worked closely with those teams
Exceptional communication and presentation skills - you can represent Breaker professionally to senior military leaders and explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
Strong technical aptitude - you understand complex systems, troubleshoot independently, and can debug issues in the field
Strong written communication - clear, detailed technical reports and documentation
Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50%+ of time) - domestic and international
Currently living in, or willing to relocate to Austin, Texas
Transport and set up robots (lifting up to 50 lbs)
Work outdoors in various weather conditions
Work irregular hours based on customer schedules and testing windows

Preferred

Engineering degree (software, aerospace, mechanical, or related fields)
Business development or sales experience in defense
Network within military UAV, ISR, or special operations communities
Experience translating between engineering teams and operational users
Understanding of defense procurement and decision-making processes
Startup experience - comfortable with ambiguity and fast iteration
Software debugging and technical troubleshooting skills
Familiarity with modern tooling (Notion, Jira, CRM platforms)
